De Makerbox is an educational tool made entirely out of waste materials of the creative makers of the Vierhavenarea in Rotterdam. By combining waste wood and 3mm material from a laser cutting company a building block system was created. Its goal is to learn children something about these waste materials and their value and to show them what it means to be a maker yourself. Within an educational setting the box can also be used to let children think about the future of the Vierhavenarea. On top of that De Makerbox also functions as a photo studio, which shows children it is, on top of all, very important to be proud of what you make.
